Quotes of the month

Women’s Drama Group
Every Thursday!

The return of the women’s group is off to a flying start! Over  the next few weeks the group will be engaging with drama exercises and creative writing to explore their own creativity and interests. One participant said:

“I’m excited at the prospect of growing together, this session has got me feeling positive.”

The group will have the opportunity to decide what performance skills or styles they want to learn more about. From hip hop & grime lyrics to puppetry or directing, the direction of the group will be entirely based on the group’s interests. This weekly group is open to all ability levels and no previous experience is needed to join.

Edge Two – Love and Information

This month our Edge Two group recorded their Acting for Camera/Radio pieces using video chat. This style of working was completely new to the group, but even when faced with the challenges of lockdown the work they were able to create after just 5 sessions was nothing short of incredible. Well done to all involved for your can-do attitude and resilience as performers. We will have a private sharing of the work on Monday 15th June – 6:30pm.

Edge Two and The Company will return from 22nd June to work on Chekhov’s The Seagull. All participants will need to read the script ahead of the session. Scripts will be emailed on Friday 5th June, if you are not a current participant of Edge Two or The Company but would like to join the group please email admin@edgetc.org.

Theatre Club

We have had some fantastic guests at Theatre Club throughout May, including Vicky Featherstone, Mathew Xia, Jenny Jackson, Charlotte Josephine and Jack Holden! Thank you to all our guests for their time and generosity.

Due to the success of this new virtual group we will be continuing it throughout June, with some exciting guests from all areas of theatre. Joining us for Q&A’s we will welcome directors (Emma Rice), lighting and stage designers (Elizabeth Powell & Rosie Elnile) and award-winning actors (Matthew Tennyson & Roger Allam). So get your questions ready for these titans of the industry!
