Celebrating twenty years of cutting edge productions and recovery drama groups

Covid-19 Update (July 2021)

During this time, the physical and mental health of our service users, staff and the wider community is of utmost concern to us. The latest government guidelines continue to make an allowance for formally organised support groups that provide mutual aid, or any other form of support, for people in drug and alcohol recovery to remain open with up to 15 participants. Therefore, we have worked with our partners in Public Health and venue delivery partners to ensure that we remain able to continue offering Covid-safe, socially distanced in-person activities. Our service users are able to attend our blended delivery sessions in person should they wish to (as long as they book in advance so staggered arrival times can be implemented).

We know that not all of our service users are able to attend in person yet as some are still shielding. To that end, we will continue to make sure that all of our activities are also accessible online and over the phone (via our blended delivery service), as we have done over the past year. However we are excited to start our transition back into workshop spaces and see you all again in person!

For now, we are offering a blended delivery (which allows participants to come to the workshop space) for the following groups listed below:

  • Edge Two (Mondays)
  • East London Write Now (Tuesdays)
  • East London Drop-in Drama (Tuesdays)
  • West London Write Now (Wednesdays)
  • West London Drop-in Drama (Wednesdays)
  • Women’s Drama Group (Thursdays)
  • South London Drop-In Drama (Friday)

To keep you as safe as possible we have put in place additional safety measures at our workshops, including compulsory booking a minimum of 4 hours in advance of a session, reduction in capacity resulting in increased distance between participants and face coverings must be worn during all activities (unless a service user has a valid exemption for this requirement).

All other groups will continue to operate online. Take a look at the monthly schedule of free activities and join us through a video link or telephone call to spark your creativity and connect with the group.

To keep you as safe as possible our workshops will look and feel a little bit different, find out what to expect here!

If you have not been to an OETC workshop before please register your interest here.

If you are an existing OETC participant and have not received information about how to access these activities, please get in touch at or call 0207 371 8020 for more information.

“Outside Edge produces artistically excellent work that challenges and entertains audiences at the same time as making a real difference. Edge’s work with addicts – and the ways in which their performances awaken audiences and provoke debate – is quite simply stunning.” – Jimmy Page, OETC Patron
