February Newsletter

Though January brought strong winds and freezing cold temperatures, we warmly welcomed many new service users to Outside Edge, both through our Drop-in and Taster Sessions. To all participants, we hope all of your years have started positively. If you could use a bit of creativity and community, why not attend one of our Drop-in Services and get your year going!

Last month also brought a new module of Edge Two, Ensemble Storytelling, with participants delving into the murky waters of faerie tales, and sharing is planned next month. January’s Masterclass, Acting in Commercials, with Adam Loxley explored adverts, self tapes, auditions and most importantly, a mindset for approaching this often frustrating and confusing part of the industry.

We’re really looking forward to running Peer Volunteer training for new and existing Peer Volunteers later this month, to increase our brilliant pool of lived experience volunteers to advocate for Outside Edge and assist our amazing facilitators in the delivery of Taster Sessions.

We would love to see service users at our first Social Event of the year, Anti-Valentine’s Day open mic and pizza party! On Saturday 10th February, expect performances and a chance to mix with your fellow Outside Edgers, as we swap Cupid for community and creativity.

There’s information for how to RSVP and details about a whole lot more going on at Outside Edge below!
